A Crowdfunding Quiz for Future Investors
Good Morning, class. Today is a special day because you will all be getting a pop quiz! Well, it may have lost its “pop” since I mentioned it in the header, but you know what I mean.
With Texas intrastate crowdfunding starting very soon, now is a great time to test your equity crowdfunding knowledge. The Texas State Securities Board is quite adamant regarding the education of non-accredited investors, and for good reason. Investors should know all the basic information and risks of equity crowdfunding before they start pledging money. The SEC’s proposed rules for Title III equity crowdfunding require each portal to offer educational materials and a quiz, so consider this test a sneak-peek at a real upcoming crowdfunding exam.
Texas intrastate crowdfunding is quite similar to federal Title III equity crowdfunding, but not all details are the same. We altered our Title III quiz to incorporate some Texas questions so all you Texans will be ready to hit the ground running. However, the majority of the questions do relate to federal proposed crowdfunding rules, so even if you don’t live in Texas this quiz is a good measuring stick for you.
Don’t worry if you don’t get a perfect score, this test is more of a learning tool than a harsh evaluation. Go through it once, see what you don’t know, and study those areas harder. Keep taking the test until you get an A+ and the questions become so easy it’s boring. At that point, you will be ready to take on the investment world with confidence and intelligence.
We understand you most likely answered these questions on a Google-friendly device so hopefully you answered off the top of your head. And before you check your results, don’t get too discouraged if your final score is a little rough. The purpose of this test was to find out what you know and what you need to learn. The Texas State Securities Board crowdfunding page and the SEC’s Investor.gov page provide great references for you and truCrowd will certainly help you with any questions you need answered.
We will post another set of questions in the future, but for now, do your best to master this equity crowdfunding test.
